On page two under the 1883-1884 school year, you can see where Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Willa Cather, attended the New Virginia school at the age of 10. She is listed as “Willie Cather”, along with her brother, Roscoe, age 6. This timeline can be confirmed by the University of Nebraska’s Willa Cather Archive Chronology.
